The Lumary Smart Gimbal Lighting is a compact RGB light. It is well encapsulated with good materials. Professionally finished. There is even foam around the lip to protect the plastic surfaces. The retention spring clips exude a lot of pressure. They stay in the position placed well for the light angle desired. They put out a decent among of light and I enjoyed the customization abilities in the app for the colors and brightness.

The power boxes weighed 6.2 oz while the gimbal light weighed 12.7 oz. One thing I didnt like was that there wasnt any mounting supplied for the power box. You need to pop open the power boxes and wire them up as well as come up with the mounting for this kit.

There is a remote included to change the colors and the brightness levels.

It includes a manual which is in color and fully explains how to wire up the lights and use the app and remote.

There are times when you just need some lights, nothing fancy, pop them in, turn them on, done. You just need some illumination to keep you from sitting in the dark and you don't feel like dealing with a whole bunch of nonsense.

These are absolutely not the lights for you if that is your desire.

Not to say that the lights are overly complicated or confusing but they are INVOLVED.

As a specialty recess light these are not quite as simple as screwing in your average light-bulb. You either already have the set up for installing recessed lights or you have to do it in the moment. Once you've climbed your ladder and created a space within your wall deep enough to hold the light box and attach it to your wires you then have to push it in deep and situate it into position.

After that you download the app to unlock the features that make that work worth the effort. The app is where these lights shine - literally - as they allow you to not only change the hue and color but also adjust the tone depending on your own comforts. You can dim or brighten the lights and basically set up your own light show if you desire.

For a room that's more for play this is fantastic. I have it set up in my son's game room and he loves that he can either turn it on to regular lights when he wants to 'get serious' or turn the lights to more playful colors for 'vibes'.

All in all it was a really great purchase.

We used this recessed light when remodelling our basement. Installation is super easy, and should be doable by anyone handy and familiar with electrical principles. Connecting the lights to the app is super easy. I used the SmartLife app, as that is the app all my other smart devices connect through, and it recognized this light just fine. Compared to other light brands that I've tried, Lumary has the best rate of staying connected to the wifi of any of them. Overall, I couldn't be happier.

The Lumary 4 Pack Smart Gimbal Recessed Lighting provides varied and attractive colors in an easily installed package. These lights integrate smoothly with Alexa and their operation can be configured in minute detail with the app. These lights do have a bit of a limited tilt range, but their low installation profile and immense palette of colors do compensate.
