Lumary Smart Recessed Light Pro

I recently tested the Lumary Smart Recessed Light Pro 6 Inch and I am genuinely impressed with its performance and features. The three lighting modes make it incredibly versatile. The downlight mode is perfect for daily use, providing clear, bright lighting, while the nightlight mode offers a soft, cozy glow thats easy on the eyes and ideal for winding down in the evening. The RGB mode adds a fun, colorful atmosphere, which is perfect for setting the mood during social gatherings or just adding a vibrant touch to the room.

The ability to adjust both the brightness (1%-100%) and color temperature (2700K-6500K) is fantastic. It allows me to switch between warm, soft lighting for relaxing and cooler, brighter lighting for tasks like reading or working. The app control feature is a real game-changer its so convenient to control the lights from my phone, and I love the voice control integration with Alexa and Google Assistant.

Setting up the lights was straightforward, and I appreciate the long lifespan and energy efficiency. The fact that its ETL and FCC listed also gives me confidence in the product's safety and durability. The group control option is a huge plus for managing lights across multiple rooms, and the Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity make controlling them seamless.

Overall, these lights exceeded my expectations. They are perfect for anyone looking for modern, smart lighting thats highly customizable and reliable. I highly recommend them!

Installing it is a little bit challenging but you dont have to be professional. It does look good. Brightness is super bright. The colorful light around it especially at night it gives you the feeling that you are special

Replaced one of my daughters ceiling lights out for this as a way for her to add to the assortment of led lighting she has all over her room. lots of fun colors to chose from. Had my brother who is an electrician hook it up as home electrical is outside my paygrade and he is an electrician by trade so I can really speak to the difficulty of install but didnt take him more than a couple minutes. Overall very happy with it!

Pros:very bright for its size. I'm running it at 39% and it's about the same as the 60W LED bulb it replacedquick setup once I used the AP mode (app gives you three setup options)works well with GoogleFades on and off, which feels classyCons:independent control of the RGB halo is only fully supported in it's own app; Google Home doesn't let you turn the white light off while leaving the halo onrequires its own app, which means I have to have another account and another appsetup via Bluetooth (the default in its app) would not work on my Samsung S23 Ultra. It kept prompting me to turn on Bluetooth, which was on, and I had given it precise location permission. Must be a bug in the app. "Easy" mode didn't work either, so I finally went with AP mode.ALSO if it's waiting to be set up and you don't get it connecting (say, because Bluetooth setup is bugged in the app) it gives up about 30 or 45 seconds and you have to turn it on and off again a few times to reset it. This was pretty frustrating, and it probably ended up take 5+ minutes to set up due to having to reset the light and restart the setup process in the app and have it find it before it quit and just went to solid 100% daylight white.Other thoughts:make sure the size and format is what you need. I didn't measure, and the recessed light I was replacing with this was a 6". I ended up designing and printing a trim ring in PLA, which worked fine, it is responsible for the shadow you can see in the halo-only picture. I'm sure the sell a 6" version, also. This kind of light also comes in direct wire, like this, and retrofit formats, where you have an Edison screw connector and the power supply is in the light rather than a separate box.

This little 4" recessed light is bright and has some nice features. The night light feature with the RGB ring is a nice touch and looks good. I like that it comes with a metal junction box, unlike some of the other brands I've purchased. It's Smart, which is nice for the features however you will need to download their App (Yep, yet another App. It does you the 2.4ghz frequency so make sure your router supports that. With Comcast/Xfinity the router they supply supports 2.4ghz however if you have one of their WiFi boosting pods it gets a bit tricky to set it up. This one is on the pricey side. You are paying for the RGB and night light features so I would say if you don't plan to use those you could save money with a stripped-down version but if you want those features this is probably a good option.
