Many of the newer products are turning to remotes as the way to control the functioning of the devices. Such as ceiling fans. The problem with that is that if you loose the remote control you are out of luck. With these it give you so many options to control your pathway lights. What I love the most is the app you can use with your smart phone. Overall, they are great lights.
